Eric Meleney – Associate Attorney
Eric Meleney is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and business owners navigate the complexities of estate planning with confidence and care. His passion for thoughtful and intentional planning stems from personal experiences that have shaped his core values. From cherishing time with his grandparents and neighbors to supporting family members with chronic illness and special needs, Eric has seen firsthand the challenges and joys of aging. These experiences inspire his commitment to helping clients protect what matters most—whether that’s their loved ones, their businesses, or their philanthropic goals.
Eric’s approach is deeply rooted in compassion and a belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and clarity when planning for the future. He works closely with clients at all stages of life to create tailored plans that reflect their unique goals, ensuring they feel informed, heard, and empowered throughout the process. For Eric, estate planning is about more than just securing the future; it’s about providing peace of mind for the present.
In addition to estate planning, Eric offers expert guidance to families navigating the estate administration process following the loss of a loved one. Whether assets must be managed through Probate Court, a Trust, or directly with financial institutions, Eric provides practical solutions to address the often-complex realities of administering an estate. From managing financial accounts, real estate, and life insurance policies to addressing small business transitions and debts, Eric is dedicated to making a challenging process as seamless as possible for his clients.
Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a focus on family studies, from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 2014, and his law degree from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio in 2019. After being admitted to the bar that same year, Eric began his legal career supporting Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, handling complex tax matters. He later joined Collier & Associates as a business and tax attorney, representing medical and dental practices across the country.
Eric is a devoted husband and proud father to his young daughter, their boxer dog (“Bisous”), and two cats (“Ronald Weasley” and “Sirius Black”). Eric and his wife, Paige, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newest family member in June! The Meleney family enjoys exploring new hiking trails, spending time outdoors, and staying active in their community. Eric also cherishes date nights with Paige, which previously involved discovering new restaurants and enjoying live entertainment at various theatres around northeast Ohio, though lately they’ve settled for takeout and a good movie.
